<div>In the context of the Mission Network Circular Economy at the Technical University of Munich (<a href="https://www.mission-networks.tum.de/en/circular-economy/home/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">https://www.mission-networks.tum.de/en/circular-economy/home/</a>), I am developing a project that examines the regulatory politics of the transition from a linear to a circular (and thus more sustainable!) economy. The primary objective is to explain why some countries' laws and regulations are very conducive to greater circularity (ideally actively, meaningfully encouraging the circular economy transition) whereas other countries' regulatory and policy environments constitute more of an impediment, despite the countries having very similar levels of economic development, political institutions, etc.<br /><br />I am looking for a (future) PhD student with background in political science, public policy studies, economics, or a related social science who might work with me on this project starting in winter 2024 (Details of course to be discussed).<br /><br />If interested, please send an email with subject line "Application for Circular Economy Politics PhD Position" with a current CV, transcripts from your Master's and Bachelor's degrees, a writing sample, and a cover letter relating your interest in the topic, via email to:<br /><br />ir-chair@hfp.tum.de<br /><br />All applications received by Wednesday, June 5, will be given full and equal consideration; applications will continue to be reviewed thereafter in the order received until the position is filled.  Inquiries may also be sent to the above email address.<br /><br />Best wishes,<br />Tim Büthe</div>
